About Us

Non-Invasive Medical Systems (NIMS) markets therapeutic, motorized devices that provide non-invasive, drug-free, health solutions through our patented technology called Whole Body Periodic Acceleration (WBPA).

Company History

Founded in 1978 by Dr. Marvin Sackner and Mr. William Gruen as the Respitrace Corporation, renamed Non-Invasive Monitoring Systems, Inc. in 1986 and began trading as a public company in 1989. Non-Invasive Monitoring Systems, Inc. has led the way in cutting-edge, non-invasive, computer assisted, hardware and software to detect abnormal respiratory and cardiac events during wakefulness and sleep (24/7) using sensors placed externally on the surface of the body. NIMS' flagship diagnostic product was Respitrace®, now the basis for LifeShirt™, a 24/7 ambulatory monitoring system.

These diagnostic technologies were sold to VIASYS Healthcare (now part of Cardinal Health) and VivoMetrics®, allowing Non-Invasive Monitoring Systems to focus on non-invasive therapeutic devices. Since 2003, Non-Invasive Monitoring Systems has developed and established the benefits of the Exer-Rest®. Launched in the United States in January 2009, the Exer-Rest is a result of Non-Invasive Monitoring Systems' market approach of coupling the global need for non-invasive, drug-free wellness solutions with accredited peer-reviewed scientific and clinical research. Non-Invasive Monitoring Systems markets the Exer-Rest under the company name Non-Invasive Medical Solutions (NIMS).
